Cathy Bentley R.Sc.P.

Cathy Bentley is well-equipped to walk  confidently beside each person seeking spiritual assistance, as her own journey is a testament to the power of prayer and clear intention.            

Cathy, also known affectionately as “Bentley,” has been a vital part of our congregation for over 4 years; yet, she has studied Science of Mind teachings since she was 22 years old. Diagnosed (for the second time) with metastatic breast cancer in January 2000, she was not given an encouraging prognosis by her physicians.  Rather than accepting this news, she delved even more deeply into searching her own soul for answers and set out to find a doctor who supported her optimistic view. In her own words: “Knowing that God supports me, I was optimistic and positive, and I knew I would make it. I knew I needed to be in an uplifting environment more than once a week, so I signed up for SOM 100. My whole life started to make sense. I began to love myself, forgive others, and wanted to live and be happy.  I continue to take the classes, and I am very proud to be a Licensed Practitioner.  I have also used my experiences and knowledge to help others, which helps me. I feel truly blessed and give thanks for all I have been through, which has made me the very valuable, worthwhile person I am.”
      
An extremely active and cherished volunteer for the Desert Cancer Foundation, she has been free of the disease for five years and exudes the radiant health which is her divine birthright. As Cathy so clearly expresses, Cancer is a word, not a sentence. We are very, very proud of Cathy, too, and know that her consciousness is a magnificent addition to our Healing Ministry at the Religious Science Church of the Desert.
